A Woman’s Prerogative…

….is to change her mind, RIGHT?

Okay, good.

So I did. ;)

The Newbies just didn’t do it for me last night on the treadmill. I ran/walked for an hour and it just felt like my shoes were sloshing around the whole time. My toes didn’t know what to do – they went from a studio apartment to mansion overnight!!!

The fit was much too boxy and I didn’t feel like the shoe was supporting my foot.

And after just an hour, the ball of my foot felt….how do I describe it……*rubbed.* Like my foot was moving around too much and had I run a longer duration I would have had blisters. I didn’t like it.

So I went back to see Jeremy today and traded him for the other pair of Asics that were the runner up to the New Balances. These were definitely the more pricey model, but if they make my feet happy, then it’s all worth it. I am not keen on the color, but again, there are no fashion contests to be won by me anytime soon. One trip down the canal and they certainly won’t be white anymore, that’s for sure!

I also discovered that too many trips to the running store can be dangerous. There are just waaaaaaaaay too many goodies and gadgets to buy. This one caught my eye today because I have been in need of a hydration belt. Anyone have any experience with it?

I know Lisa doesn’t like hers cause it rides up…this one claims not to.

I’ll try not to post tomorrow about yet another pair of running shoes. ;)

LMAO!! It's all good. I did the same thing with a pair of Mizunos I picked up awhile back. My toes felt too scrunched in. Had to go back to my Nike's. Lesson learned. I will never depart from my Nike's again.

I need a better belt so I'm no use to you, but let me know if you get a good one!

Believe me, I've been on the shoe parade. Several pair, several test runs later, I still have the old ones. I hope you have better luck than I have. At least you got to see Jeremy again! :)

I have new orthotics which haven't helped much. Next stop, I'm seeing a sports PT guy tomorrow.

The wife just got the same shoes and loves them. She also wears the fuel belt, but I hate it. I use the ultimate direction single bottle belt with a standard size water bottle. I liked it so much I bought the 2 bottle belt for half marathons and up. I like the fit and it does not feel like it's whole purpose is to bounce up and down and try to pull my pants down.
I hate that.

I actually changed my mind about the fuel belt. :>P I like it after the last run.

Glad you got some shoes that will work better! :>)

I have asics 1120's, I think I am going to the running store to get fitted for my next pair. They are opening up early Saturday for the training group and offering discounts..

I ordered a hydration belt thingy from Road Runner Sports.

HI, I feel like i should introduce my self~~I'm Jen :o)

I'm slow too; & I go alone because of that! I haven't ventured past 3 miles yet......I was thinking after my last run, I could . . . .go father I mean.....I have my last running class tonight~~3 mile max~~, so Saturday I'll see how far I can go. Maybe I just need a longer 'warmup' so to speak---I think you know what i" mean. I also think instead of the walk run, I slow down to a turtle jog (so to speak) to get away from the walking???? Kinda like you did for the 8??? was it horrible??

BTW, LOVE THE SHOES!! & I love colors others wouldn't get (I have blue & white & wanted the orange or neon green, but they didn't have them in my size), I think it makes me kool (can you be kool at 34???~~~I'd like to think I am!

Oh, you Dh is a golfer?? Like Pro/semi??

Mine is too---not for a job, but he wishes......his brother is really good, the pro at a local country club here in Michigan

Glad you were able to exchange the shoes. I recently switched to Asics, and I love them. Can't offer any advice about the fuel belt - I have one, but I haven't used it yet. I'm hoping to take it on it's inaugural run this weekend.

First, I never mind posts about shoes. I think I posted a lot about my new pair when I got them. Good shoes (or bad shoes) are just something fun to write about!

Second, that hydration belt looks cool, but I don't believe the no-bounce thing for a second! I need to get me a better one too...
