Road ID

Since I lost my last one (think it got tossed out with the shoes), yesterday I ordered a new ROAD ID. I always figured that I'd hate to be passed out along the road somewhere, with vultures circling and no one has any idea who I am ;)

So today I get this *sample email* that I can send to all my friends, with a valuable $1 off coupon. The email made me laugh, and I'm always out to save a buck or two ~ so I figured it was post-worthy.

Hey Everyone,
I just ordered one of the best products ever. It's called a Road ID - perhaps you've heard of it. If you haven't, go to their website and check it out. Road ID is a great product that could save your life someday.

When I ordered, they gave me a coupon that I could pass along to my friends. Here's the coupon number:

Coupon Number: ThanksKaren351475

The coupon is good for $1 off any Road ID order placed by 03/16/2008. To order, simply go to RoadID.com or click the link below:

If you prefer, you can call them at 800-345-6335.

You can thank me later,
Karen

Oh by the way, their website is awesome, the customer service is outstanding, and the owners are very smart and good looking.

Happy almost-Friday!

Thanks Karen! Who doesn't love to save a buck? I was looking at the Road ID website recently, but couldn't decide which kind to get-- the wrist one, the necklace, or the one that goes on your shoe. It certainly is a good idea, no matter which one.

A friend of mine was running in the dark the other day when he was hit by a car. He rolled over the top of it and as he fell off the back another car was coming towards him buthit the breaks at the last second. They said all they saw was a flash and it was the reflection off of his Road ID. Basically it saved his life. Unfortunatley the first guy that hit him took off, but fortunately he wasn't only bruised from the impact.

Geez, they should send you a case for your PSA. Too bad they don't also sell wine or something. :D

I've got the bracelet. When it came in the mail last summer, my husband asked "What's that for?" I told him it's in case I get hit by a big truck on a run, they'll know who to call. He just gave me the strangest look and said, "you be careful out there."

My wife bought me two -- dog tag for biking, anklet for running.

She said they were great to deal with. Very personalized and very quick delivery.

I got mine because every race I ran gave me a form in the packet, which included a coupon for a buck or two off. It sounded like something all the cool runners were doing, so I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon. (It's a good thing they didn't also include a form in those race packets for jumping off a bridge with all the cool runners). I really like mine - haven't ever had occasion to use it, but it makes me feel really responsible to wear it when I go running.

David and I both need one of those. I've been meaning to get one. So, thanks for the savings. Saving is saving!

Love those marketing skills they have! Sending you that email - ha! ;)

I've never had a road ID - just always keep my ID in my hand-held water bottle pouch. But I've wondered what would happen if I collapsed and it rolled off and away from me. Would people look for it? Would they just assume I'm a silly runner with no ID? Seriously, am I nuts to think about things like this?

MyLife, it's funny... I wear my RoadID on my wrist religiously when I go running, but I usually wear long sleeve shirts that cover it up, so I'm always wondering if anyone would look for it and/or find it.
