Ignorance is Bliss

No Garmin ~ no watch ~ no problem.

Just me and the road for a slow, continous 3 miles tonight [translation: no walking]. I had a few issues with my feet going numb (a blast from my sorted running past), but somehow worked through it.

The realization hit me this weekend that I leave in 4 weeks for Hawaii. You know what that means?

A SWIMSUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*gasp*

So other than making it through the Valley of the Sun HM alive, I have but ONE goal for the coming weeks ~ lose 8 pounds by my vacation.

That's 4 weeks @ 2 pounds a week. Totally do-able if I behave myself.

That also means running for weight loss....not just training. Which takes me right back to slower pace, continous runs during the week.

Sure makes it sound easy :P

Garmin-Free-Continous Run:

Distance: 3.0

Time: Enough

Average pace: Blissfully unknown

The Garmin can drive you crazy at times. I have one request if you don't mind. Please keep the language on your blog clean. The "swimsuit" word is so dirty and offensive. It just scares me.

Um...I don't think I could run without the Garmin...How do you know you ran if you can't download it to the training center software?

Where are you going in Hawaii?? Maybe we can meet for coffee or something?

You can do it. :)

2 pounds per week is totally doable -- just watch out for the Thin Mints's lurking at Java's house.

Oy, oy, oy I was JUST talking to Lisa about bathing suits. I think this is going to be the year for me (I don't wear swimsuits outside of the privacy of my backyard LOL) I HAVE to find something. *gulp*

check out the new rec center in tumbleweed. It's free this month and you can burn some calories there.

I think that is a great plan...just leave that bossy thing at home and do your own thing. I am so jealous of you girls and your Hawaii trips!

Hi Pokey

Those runs where you have no idea of the pace are just some of the best. Hawaii?? That is the one place that I have not been to that I would most like to see.

Best of luck with the 8 pounds, but from your pictures I think you look great:-)

It's nice to leave the technology behind from time to time and just enjoy movement. Have fun in Hawaii. As for the weight loss, you can certainly do it. You might want to throw in a few higher-intensity surges in your training. It help rev up your metabolism for the rest of the day and burn more calories. Have fun!

Swimsuits. Soooo very not ready to hear that word at all. Shame on you.

LOL at Lisa. I'm with you both girls. I've GOT to loose weight. I will NOT go another summer without even purchasing a suit. This year, it's ON!!

Hawaii. Can I go too? You can so loose 2 lbs each week. Very doable and a great goal!
