Quick run update

Yesterday morning I was reminded of why I run. It was 37 degrees and sunny when I left the house a little before 8am....and it was just beautiful.

This run was quite possibibly the best 5 mile, SOLO run I have ever had. Without my running buddies, I tend to walk a bit too much [insert embarrassed face here] but today was the exception.

I headed out slow and easy, and maintained an easy pace for the entire 5 miles. The goal was to be slow (even in Pokey terms) and keep moving. I walked only once, after the 3 mile mark, to adjust some clothing and take a water break. If not for that break, all my splits would be negative.

Slow, steady, consistent, WONDERFUL run:

Lap 1: 12:37
Lap 2: 12:30
Lap 3: 12:20
Lap 4: 13:28 (walk break)
Lap 5: 12:10

Total: 5.0 miles
Time: 1:03:11
Average pace: 12:37

WTG on your good run! We need those to remind us why we are out there.

Merry Christmas!

To support us slow and steady types, check out episode 126 of Phedipidations regarding base training.

that was a good run. I think you might even do better without us. I think we all like our walk breaks.

Have a Merry Christmas.

Awesome run. That's like hitting a nine iron four feet from the pin. It keeps us coming back for more :-)

Merry Christmas!!!
