Happy Anniversary to Me!

Two years ago today was my very first 5K race. That race that was party of my training program fo the impending *big* 12K race in September 2006 ~ and was also the race that set me on the path of wanting to become a runner!

I am still on that very same path ~ only my sights are set a little higher these days ;)

In two years, I have completed 2- 5K races (weird, huh? It's obviously not my favorite distance); one 2M; one 4.2M; one 12K, and 3- half marathons.

Apparently, I'm not quite the experienced racer that I sometimes think I am!! Only two 5K's???? I gotta get moving :) And somebody find me a good 10K!!!!!

I still have my 5K race tshirt, and very first pair of running shoes tucked up on a shelf in my closet. I attribute those items to getting me off the couch and on to the pavement. My hope is to have many more races to brag about by the time my next anniversary comes around!

Happy Running!

Happy Anniversary!

Odd how we prefer certain length of races eh? I think I've only done 2 5Ks.

I am having issues finding my own 10K to run. I think I will run it next October in Disney, lol. Oh well.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary!

If you just want t-shirts, there's probably a 5k every weekend.

Those half mary's are far more impressive!

Happy anniversary! How cool. I look forward to getting to my first year of racing in September. You've been a great motivation for me. Keep up the great work.

Nice! I guess Mendy got me interested about 2 years ago, or so. It's interesting when we go from a "complete it" mentality to a "compete it" mentality, if only competing with ourselves. Sometimes I wonder if I'm stupid for spending so much time on fitness, but I feel more alive now than I ever have. And I'm setting the example for Grace, friends, and other watchers of my progress.

Way to go, and keep it up! You are only too old when you decide to give up, so don't.

SO cool! I love how you did the races on a keychain type of thing.

I decided I would save all my shirts and have my MIL make me a tshirt quilt. I currently have 5 race shirts, so I need to start entering my races. I think I need 16 for her to start it.

Congrats again! Just awesome!

Great job with the running anniversary! The I-Did-A-Run is a good 10k without a huge field.

Wow - what a fantastic anniversary to celebrate!

It is fun to try different distances. I've done 5Ks out the wazoo, a 15K, and a marathon. This year I'm branching out to a 10K (in June!) and a half in the fall. I've seen some 5 milers and 9K races out there, too, which could be fun. Variety is the spice of life! Good luck finding your 10K!
