It is time again to pull this lovely picture out of the archives ~ because I need it. I have been lazy the last couple days and haven't run since Monday. I was supposed to get in 4 miles last night, but I wasn't feeling great (thought I was getting some of T's headcold) and then Hubby didn't get home until 8:30 from a meeting ~ so it was just enough excuse to crawl in bed instead.

I've been eating badly too ~ yesterday I think I ate everything that wasn't nailed down. Like I told Lisa this morning as we were philosophizing over the never-ending weight loss debacle, I somehow seem to think that FAT FREE = EAT MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I mean, seriously ~ if the Fig Newtons are Fat Free, it's okay to eat 30 of them, right???

In another attempt to feel worse about myself last night, I attempted "the plank." As the first few seconds passed, I was wondering what all the hype was about this newfangled exercise. Then after more time passed and my entire body was shaking uncontrollably, I figured it out.

Plank attempt #1: 48 seconds
Plank attempt #2: 25 seconds

See the diminishing returns? Oh well, so I gave it a shot. I can only improve from here.

In other news, I have a hot date tonight to see this flick. I am SUPER excited and hope it throws some running motivation my way!

I had plans to go to the movie with Runner's Lounge folks and found out they all have their tickets already and it's sold out. I am SO bummed... I hope you can get in. You are probably smarter than me with the ticket.

I used sticks today too for the Runner's Lounge link but yours is way cuter!!

That pic is too cute! WTG on your plank, you held on there like a trooper! I am with you yesterday i ate 2 100 calorie hostess thingys. It feels like I am starving all the time, ugh! You and J Mom enjoy the movie. I am counting down the hours to it. I am packing an apple, since I will feel guilty stuffing my face with popcorn :-)

Great cartoon! Maybe the movie has some imporant timing. I find movies or TV shows like that help me focus in and get moving again.

Hi Pokey

Don't beat yourself up so much.. you have put in some great training previously. i know for me it is really tough in the wintertime because I freeze and just want to eat everything..

The plank is just plain hard.

Best of luck.

Hey write a review of the movie for those of us who will have to wait for the dvd.

Couldn't make the movie tonight because of silly work obligations, but according to e-mails I've been getting (I think from Active.com?), they're going to do one more night in February sometime. Post a review and let us know if it's worth making concrete plans for?

Sometimes you just need a break - don't be to hard on yourself!

Ugh, I'll join in on the slacker front. Not good around here. Not good at all :P

I'm totally going to have to step up to the plank challenge. I guarantee I can hit a hard 20 seconds ;)

All this planking. I gotta join in!!!

It's alright to get into a running rut every now and then. We all do it. After the movie, I bet you're motivation will be restored!

Sorry to hear about your car. Bummer. I'll send bad vibes to the person who done it.

So I didn't even try a plank -- you're way ahead of me.

Something going on with food these days, I've got the same disease lately.

How was the flick?
